Walnut Honey Bread Recipe

This delicious walnut honey bread recipe is perfect for breakfast, brunch or even as a snack! Perfect for any Jewish Holiday or celebration!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Walnuts chopped Plus 3-4 whole ones for garnish
  • 2 1/4 Cups Flour
  • 3/4 Cups Sugar
  • 3/4 Cups Vegetable Oil
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1/2 Cup Honey
  • 1 Teaspoon Cocoa Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Ground Instant Coffee
  • zest of one Lemon
  • 1 pinch ground cloves optional
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 packet Instant Yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 1/4 Cup Warm Milk + 1 Teaspoon of Sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven to 350 Degrees F
  2. In a small bowl, add the warm milk, 1 ts of sugar and the yeast. Mix and cover. Let it rest for 15 minutes until the yeast blooms.
  3. Using the mixer, add the flour, sugar, baking powder, eggs, dissolved yeast mixture, honey, zest, coffee, chocolate and oil. Blend until all the ingredients are combined
  4. Add the chopped nuts and keep blending
  5. Grease a loaf pan with oil, then a little flour. Make sure the bottom and the sides are well covered with the oil and flour.
  6. Dump the batter in the loaf pan. Top with whole Walnuts mixed with a little flour
  7. Bake for One Hour. Lower the temperature to 300 F and bake for 30 minutes more
  8. Enjoy!
