Easy Brigadeiros recipe made with dulce de leche, cocoa, and butter. These rich Brazilian chocolate fudge balls are no-bake, fudgy, and perfect for parties.
In a heavy bottomed saucepan over medium heat add the Dulce de Leche, butter and cocoa. Stir with a wooden spoon until all the ingredients are mixed together
When dulce de leche begins to a boil, lower the heat and stir for 3-4 minutes more or until it becomes thick and creamy being careful not to burn the bottom
Remove from heat and add the mixture into a bowl previously greased with cooking spray or butter. Let the dulce de leche cool
When the mixture is cool, roll into balls, about the size of a teaspoon and place on a sheet with parchment paper
Pour sprinkles into a small bowl
Dip each ball into the sprinkles and move it around until all the fudge ball is completely coated
Serve and Enjoy!
Notes
Traditional brigadeiros are often made with sweetened condensed milk, but dulce de leche adds a delicious caramel flavor.
Grease your hands lightly with butter before rolling to prevent sticking.
Roll in chocolate sprinkles, rainbow jimmies, coconut flakes, chopped nuts, or cocoa powder.
Chill for 20–30 minutes if the mixture is too soft to roll.
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
Bring to room temperature for 10 minutes before serving for the best texture.
For smaller party-size treats, divide into 16 mini brigadeiros instead of 12.
