These decadent Baked Turtle Donuts are are glazed with chocolate, sprinkled with toasted pecans and drizzled with sweet caramel. An irresistible dessert that tastes better than the Turtles candy bar
Preheat oven to 400°F. Spray Donut Pan with vegetable pan spray
In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda
In a medium bowl, whisk together sour cream, eggs, and butter. Add sour cream mixture to flour mixture; stir until just combined
Fill each donut cup approximately 2/3 full
Bake 8-10 minutes or until tops of donuts spring back when touched
Let cool in pan on cooling rack 5 minutes. Remove from pan
For Chocolate Glaze
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt together the chocolate glaze ingredients by microwaving for 1 minute, and stirring until all of the ingredients are blended together
Dip each donut in the glaze and return to the cooling rack, glazed side up
For Caramel Drizzle
In another microwave-safe bowl, melt together the caramel and cream in 30-second intervals
Once the caramel is melted together and smooth, allow cooling slightly and transfer to a sealable bag, keeping it towards one corner. Cut the tip off and, pipe caramel over the tops of the donuts.
