Caramelized Hazelnut Affogato
This delicious Affogato recipe is made with caramelized hazelnuts, hazelnut ice cream, and instant coffee for a delicious no bake dessert idea.

For Caramelized Hazelnuts
- 2 cups roasted hazelnuts peeled
- 1/2 Cup granulated sugar
- 2 Tablespoons water
For Affogato
- 2 cups hot coffee or espresso
- 1 Pint ice cream
- wafers optional
For Caramelized Hazelnuts
Preheat oven to 300 Degrees Fahrenheit
Line a sheet pan with parchment paper
In a heavy bottomed pot heat the sugar and water together on medium heat. Don't stir
When the caramel turns amber in color, add the hazelnuts and mix well until coated
Throw the hazelnuts in the sheet pan
Bake for 20-25 minutes mixing them every 5-7 minutes
Let it cool and enjoy!
For Affogato:
Place ice cream, wafers and hazelnuts in a glass, cup, mug or bowl
Pour hot coffee over this mixture
Enjoy!
