Ingredients

  • 1 lb firm white fish corvina, snapper, or sea bass, cubed into small pieces
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lime juice about 5–6 limes
  • 1/2 small red onion thinly sliced
  • 1/2 red bell pepper thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup corn nuts or crispy corn optional, for serving

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine the sliced red onion and red pepper
  • Add the cubed fish and gently mix
  • Stir in the cilantro, salt, and pepper
  • Pour the fresh lime juice over the mixture until the fish is fully covered
  • Mix well to combine all ingredients
  • Cover and refrigerate for 15–20 minutes, or until the fish turns opaque
  • Stir once or twice during marinating for even “cooking”
  • Taste and adjust seasoning if needed
  • Serve cold with corn nuts or crispy corn on top if desired

Notes

  • Always use very fresh or sushi-grade fish for the best flavor and safety
  • Do not marinate for too long, or the fish can become rubbery
  • Best served the same day for optimal texture
  • You can substitute fish with cooked shrimp if preferred
