Ingredients
1lbfirm white fishcorvina, snapper, or sea bass, cubed into small pieces
1cupfreshly squeezed lime juiceabout 5–6 limes
1/2small red onionthinly sliced
1/2red bell pepperthinly sliced
2tablespoonsfresh cilantrochopped
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4cupcorn nuts or crispy cornoptional, for serving
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine the sliced red onion and red pepper
Add the cubed fish and gently mix
Stir in the cilantro, salt, and pepper
Pour the fresh lime juice over the mixture until the fish is fully covered
Mix well to combine all ingredients
Cover and refrigerate for 15–20 minutes, or until the fish turns opaque
Stir once or twice during marinating for even “cooking”
Taste and adjust seasoning if needed
Serve cold with corn nuts or crispy corn on top if desired
Notes
Always use very fresh or sushi-grade fish for the best flavor and safety
Do not marinate for too long, or the fish can become rubbery
Best served the same day for optimal texture
You can substitute fish with cooked shrimp if preferred
