Easy French Financiers Recipe

Financiers Recipe - this delicate french almond cake is flavored with browned butter and is super easy to make. The perfect dessert to enjoy with tea.

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter 1/2 stick
  • 1 cup confectioners sugar
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 12 raspberries

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Spray a mini muffin or financier mold with non-stick spray
  • Place butter in a pan over medium-low heat
  • Melt butter and whirl the pan occasionally
  • When butter turns brown and develops a nutty aroma, remove from heat and strain. Cool for a few minutes
  • In a bowl, whisk the egg whites until frothy
  • In another bowl, combine the flour, almond flour, confectioners sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gently mix in the cooled brown butter, egg whites, and vanilla using a whisk or a wooden spoon. Do not overmix
  • Pour the batter 3/4 full of each crevice of the mold
  • Place the raspberry inside the batter
  • Bake for 10-15 minutes or until the tops becomes brown and the financiers are fluffy and springy to the touch
  • Remove from oven
  • Unmold
  • Enjoy!
