Easy Turkey Picadillo Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 Lb Turkey Breast ground
  • 1 Medium Onion chopped
  • 1 Red Pepper chopped
  • 2 Medium tomatoes chopped (may substitute for canned diced tomatoes)
  • 2 Tablespoons capers drained
  • 1/2 Cup Olives pitted and halved (you may add more)
  • 1/2 Cup Raisins
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin
  • 1 Teaspoon tomato paste
  • 1 Cup Ketchup
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • Salt + Pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Heat the Olive Oil in a large skillet
  • Sautee the onions, tomatoes and peppers over medium heat until softened. About 5 minutes
  • Add salt, pepper and cumin
  • Toss in the turkey and using a wooden spoon, break the turkey up in small pieces while it cooks
  • When the turkey is no longer pink, add the capers, olives and raisins. Mix well
  • Pour the tomato paste and ketchup. Cook over low heat until the liquid reduces and thickens. About 5 minutes
  • Check for seasoning and make the necessary corrections
  • Serve and enjoy!
