Ingredients

  • For Burger
  • 1 lb of Lean Ground Beef
  • 8 oz Mushrooms sliced
  • 1 Onion sliced
  • Salt + Pepper
  • 1-2 Teaspoons of Balsamic Vinaigrette
  • 2 Teaspoons of Olive Oil
  • 4 Slices of Swiss Cheese
  • 4 Hamburger Buns
  • For Sauce
  • 1/4 Cup of Tartar Sauce
  • 1 Teaspoon of Yellow Mustard
  • 1 Teaspoon of Smoked Paprika
  • 1 Teaspoon of White Vinegar
  • 1/2 Teaspoon of Garlic Powder
  • Salt + Pepper
  • Lettuce
  • 2 Tomatoes sliced

Instructions

  1. Onions: In a large skillet, add 1 teaspoon of olive oil over medium heat. Toss in the onions and salt and pepper. Cook for 8-10 minutes or until the onions have softened and darkened a bit. Pour in the balsamic vinegar and let it reduce for 1 more minute. Remove from heat
  2. Mushrooms: In a large skillet, heat 1-2 teaspoons of olive oil. Add the mushrooms and toss until they have browned and reduced in size. Add salt and pepper and remove from heat
  3. Burgers: Divide ground beef in 4 balls, flatten them with your hand to form patties
  4. Sprinkle salt and pepper
  5. In a large skillet (or grill) heat over medium-high heat. Cook burgers to your desired doneness. Turn them just once. About 3 minutes on each side
  6. Remove from heat, add the cheese and cover with foil to rest. About 1-2 minutes
  7. For sauce: mix all the ingredients in a bowl. Test for seasoning and make the necessary adjustments
  8. Assembly
  9. Toast the hamburger buns
  10. Place lettuce on top
  11. Place the beef and slab some sauce on top
  12. Add the tomatoes, mushrooms, onions and the top bun
  13. Enjoy!
