Thick Hot Chocolate Recipe

  • 6 oz of Semi-Sweet Chocolate
  • 2 1/4 Cups of Milk
  • 1-2 Teaspoons of Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon of Vanilla
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 2-3 Teaspoons of Cornstarch*


  1. In a saucepan, pour 1 cup of the milk with the chocolate. Stir until chocolate melts
  2. Using a small bowl, dissolve 2 teaspoons of cornstarch with the 1/4 cup of milk
  3. Add the remaining cup of milk, salt and sugar to the chocolate mixture. Keep stirring
  4. Pour the dissolved cornstarch and let it boil until it thickens
  5. Remove from heat and add the vanilla
  6. Serve and enjoy

Recipe Notes

Start with 2 teaspoons and if needed add one more.
