This amazing apple chocolate spiced cupcakes are topped with homemade cider frosting and delicious m&m's. The perfect kid-friendly dessert for fall!

Ingredients

For Cupcakes

  • 1 box Spiced Cake Mix
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Applesauce
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1/4 cup M&M's

For Cider Frosting

  • 8 oz Cream Cheese room temperature
  • 1 stick Butter room temperature
  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Cider

Garnish

  • M&M's

Instructions

For Cupcakes

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F

  2. Place M&M's in a food processor and ground them

  3. Combine cake mix in a bowl with the ground M&M's

  4. Incorporate the eggs, water, apple juice and applesauce until combined

  5. Pour batter into a cupcake tin filled with cupcake liners

  6. Bake for 15-17 minutes

  7. When ready, take them out of the oven and place on a cooling rack

For Cider Frosting

  1. Using a mixer, whip the cream cheese and butter until combined

  2. Add the apple juice and keep mixing

  3. Incorporate the Powdered sugar a little at a time

  4. Spread on top of the cooled cupcakes and refrigerate until the frosting is set

  5. Garnish with M&M's
