Asian Tuna Tacos (Ahi Tuna with Spicy Mayo)

Ingredients

Tuna Marinade and Asian Dressing

  • 1 tablespoon Hoisin Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame Oil
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger minced
  • 1 teaspoon Hot sauce

For Slaw

  • 1/2 cup red cabbage chopped
  • 1/2 cup Green Cabbage shredded
  • 1/2 cup Carrots shredded
  • 1/4 cup Cilantro chopped

For Tacos

  • 1 lb sushi-grade ahi tuna cubed
  • 8 Tortillas
  • 2 jalapeños sliced
  • 2 avocados cubed

For Spicy Mayo

  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Hot Sauce

Instructions

  • In a bowl, whisk together hoisin sauce, honey, sesame oil, soy sauce, lime juice, ginger, and hot sauce.
  • Add cubed ahi tuna and toss gently to coat. Cover and refrigerate for 10–15 minutes.
  • In another bowl, combine cabbage, carrots, and cilantro. Toss with a few tablespoons of the dressing.
  • In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise with hot sauce to make spicy mayo.
  • Warm tortillas.
  • Assemble tacos by adding slaw, marinated tuna, avocado, and jalapeño slices.
  • Drizzle with spicy mayo and serve immediately with lime wedges.

Notes

- Always use sushi-grade tuna for safety
- Do not over-marinate the tuna or it will lose texture
- Assemble tacos right before serving for best results
- You can substitute salmon for a variation
- Adjust spice level by adding more or less hot sauce
