Beef And Broccoli Noodles

Tender beef, crisp broccoli, and noodles tossed in a savory homemade stir fry sauce. A quick 20-minute dinner that tastes better than takeout.

Ingredients

For Stir-Fry

  • 1 lb flank steak thinly sliced
  • 1 head broccoli cut into florets
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger minced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 6 oz egg noodles

For Sauce

  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup low-sodium beef stock or chicken stock

Garnish

  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds optional
  • Green onions optional

Instructions

Make Sauce

  • In small bowl whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, brown sugar, and stock until smooth. Set aside.

Cook Broccoli + Noodles

  • Bring large pot salted water to boil.
  • Add broccoli and cook 30 seconds. Remove and rinse under cold water.
  • In same pot cook noodles according to package directions. Drain.

Stir Fry Beef

  • Heat sesame oil in large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add beef and cook 3 to 4 minutes until browned.
  • Add garlic and ginger. Cook 1 minute.

Finish

  • Pour in sauce and cook 2 minutes until thickened.
  • Add noodles and broccoli. Toss until coated and heated through.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Freeze beef for 20 minutes before slicing for thinner strips.
  • Swap broccoli for snap peas, peppers, carrots, or mushrooms.
  • Use ramen, lo mein, spaghetti, or rice noodles if needed.
  • Add sriracha or chili flakes for heat.
