Ingredients

  • 6 oz cooked shrimp peeled, deveined, and diced very small
  • 2 tablespoons onion minced
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2-3 tablespoons fresh dill
  • 2-3 tablespoons capers minced
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine shrimp and onion
  • In a separate bowl, combine the mayonnaise and cream cheese. Whisk together until smooth
  • Add the lemon juice, dill, capers, and salt
  • Add the dressing to the shrimp, mix well
  • Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to develop. Stir again before serving.
  • Serve with crostini, crackers, or a variety of vegetables

Notes

  • Use fully cooked shrimp for this recipe. Small salad shrimp work especially well and save prep time.
  • For the best flavor, refrigerate the dip for at least 1 hour before serving.
  • Stir well before serving if made ahead.
  • Serve with crostini, crackers, pita chips, cucumber slices, celery sticks, or bell pepper strips.
  • Fresh dill gives the best flavor, but 1 tablespoon dried dill may be substituted if needed.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • Do not freeze, as the texture of the cream cheese and mayonnaise may change after thawing.
