Banana Gingerbread Recipe With Brown Butter Glaze

Ingredients

For Banana Gingerbread

  • 1 1/2 Cup of All Purpose Flour
  • 1 Teaspoon of Baking Soda
  • 1 Cup of Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup of Unsalted butter softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Ripe Bananas mashed
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoon of Cinnamon
  • 1/2 Teaspoon of Cloves
  • 1/2 Teaspoon of Salt
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoons of Ginger
  • 2 Tablespoons of Sour Cream

For Brown Butter Glaze

  • 2 Tablespoons of butter
  • 1 Cup of Powdered Sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons of Milk
  • 1/2 Teaspoon of Vanilla

Instructions

For Banana Gingerbread

  1. Preheat oven to 350 Degrees F.
  2. Grease a loaf pan with nonstick spray or butter
  3. In a mixer, cream the butter and sugar for 3-5 minutes
  4. In a bowl, combine the flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves and ginger
  5. Add the eggs, sour cream and bananas to the mixer. Mixture will look broken up and crumbly
  6. Finally add the flour slowly and mix until combined
  7. Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour
  8. Unmold unto a baking rack to cool down

For Brown Butter Glaze

  1. Melt butter over Medium-low heat until it turns an amber color and starts to smell nutty (3-5 minutes)
  2. Pour sugar in a bowl and add the butter and milk. Mix until mixture become thick but runny
  3. Spread glaze all over the warm bread
  4. Enjoy
