Ingredients

For the Tartare:

  • 1 lb sushi-grade tuna finely diced
  • 1 jalapeño seeded and finely diced
  • 3 green onions thinly sliced (green parts only)
  • 1 avocado diced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds black or white
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Sauce:

  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 teaspoon rice wine vinegar

For Serving:

  • Crackers
  • Microgreens optional

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine the diced tuna, jalapeño, green onions, avocado, and sesame seeds.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, lime juice, and rice vinegar.
  • Pour the sauce over the tuna mixture and gently toss to combine.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow flavors to develop.
  • Spoon the tartare onto crackers.
  • Garnish with microgreens if desired.
  • Serve immediately.

  • Use sushi-grade tuna for best quality and safety.
  • Do not overmix to keep the avocado from becoming mushy.
  • Serve cold for best flavor and texture.
