Tuna Tartare With Avocado Appetizer

Happy New Year!!!

This Tuna Tartare With Avocado Appetizer is the perfect recipe to make for friends and family during dinners and celebrations. It’s fresh, healthy, and delicious.

I love serving my Tuna Tartare on top of crackers. It makes for an easy amuse bouche (one bite) treat that anyone can pick up from a platter.

If you’d like, add some heat by using hot sauce or habanero peppers. I used a seeded jalapeno which gave me the deep delicious flavor without the spiciness.

When I served it last week for a dinner party, my husband double stacked his Tuna Tartare and made a cute sandwich.

This recipe is similar to Hawaiian Poke. I used an Asian dressing because it compliments the fresh flavor of the tuna. If you can’t find sushi grade tuna, you substitute for salmon. I’ve tried it in both versions and they are equally delicious.

The first time I tried Tuna Tartare was in a seafood restaurant in Miami Beach. I fell in love with the flavor right away and tried to re-create it at home. In that restaurant, they served it in a bigger portion and added some crispy elements.

For a party, I prefer serving it in individual portions on top of crackers. That way you get the flavor and crunch all in one little bite without the need for utensils.

The cracker I used for this recipe is the Saffron Road oven baked Lentil Crackers in Sea Salt flavor. Just 1 serving has 5 grams of protein, it is gluten free, non-GMO and even though is made with lentils, it has a delicious buttery taste that compliments my tuna tartare perfectly.

Can you believe that each serving has 19 crackers? That means that I can eat away 19 crackers and it’ll be just 110 calories! Perfect to keep my appetizer healthy and low in fat.

I tried Saffron Road snacks in the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York City. They offer a variety of delicious chips, crackers,  bean stalks, crispy chickpeas, and more.

I’m in love with their snacks! Not only is every plant based, but their flavor combinations are out of this world. Every snack is low in fat, high in fiber and gluten free.

Those bean stalks captured my heart. Their cute little tube shape is kid and adult friendly. My little ones gobbled the cheddar flavor up while my husband couldn’t get enough of the barbecue.

And of course, when there’s a party, there’s always chips. Now you can serve them without the guilt.

I hope you can try this delicious Tuna Tartare With Avocado Appetizer at home. If you do, please upload a pic on Instagram and tag me @Livingsweetmoments or use the hashtag #LivingSweet. I promise to repost it.
