I have received information about the TYLENOL® SMILING IT FORWARD™ program from McNeil Consumer Healthcare Division of McNEIL-PPC, Inc., the makers of TYLENOL®. The opinions stated are my own. This is a sponsored post for Latina Bloggers Connect.
As a mother of 2 little girls I often worry about my children’s health. Just a week ago, my usually peppy 4 year old came down with the flu and she came down hard. Fever, chills, aches, runny nose, you name it. It was hard watching her because she didn’t have the energy to run or play. She just wanted to lie down on the couch and watch TV. The next day when she was feeling better, I gave her a hug and she just smiled at me. That smile meant the world to me.
TYLENOL® noticed that moms were sharing photos of their kids in social media channels and there was one smile that particularly caught their attention – the “feel better” smile that I mentioned above with my daughter. That smile that tells you that everything is going to be ok. That’s what inspired the TYLENOL® team to create the SMILING IT FORWARD program. By sharing a cute photo that makes you smile at SmilingItForward.com, TYLENOL® will make a $1 donation* to the Children’s Health Fund. They will be giving out a minimum donation of $75,000 and a maximum donation of $100,000. Review Terms and Conditions for complete program details. Imagine how many children will get the help they need if we all share our smiling photos here. The Children’s Health Fund has a fleet of 50 mobile medical clinics serving hundreds of locations across the country, including schools, community shelters and homeless shelters so that every child in need has a chance to be healthy and ready to learn.
This past Sunday, I attended a Tylenol Sobremesa event where Dr. Aliza Lifshitz M.D., a renowned physician flew from L.A to teach us all about keeping our children healthy during cold and flu season. It was truly and honor to be sitting next to her. It’s not everyday that a renowned doctor is willing to answer all our questions regarding our children.
Here’s a few things that I learned from Dr. Aliza.
– It is recommended to administer the flu vaccine every year to your child
– A few things we can do to prevent the flu are giving our kids a healthy diet full of proteins and veggies. Wash your child’s hands often with soapy water.
– The flu appears suddenly, causes fever, chills and body aches. It can last from a week or up to 10 days. Not to be confused with the common cold which is milder.
– Avoid using antibacterial soap because your body can create a resistance to bacteria. Switch to regular soap
– Always trust your pediatricians advice first. Don’t listen to old wives tales
– A few home remedies may work with some of the flu symptoms, like tea with honey, getting into a lukewarm bath to lower a fever, rubbing vapor rub on your child’s feet and then putting on socks.
And more.
I hope you can join in me in collecting $100,000 to help those children in need. A smile from a healthy child is a blessing to all.
