Making these are easy, they just require setting times during which you will have to resist the urge to gobble them up. But I promise you that your patience will be rewarded when they are ready.
You may be wondering, why go through all that trouble when you can just buy a Twix for $1 at the store? Well, making them it’s fun, especially if you have kids and the most important reason: these are simply just better. I made the coating with dark chocolate and added some
I made the coating with dark chocolate and added some Fleur de Sel on top for a more grown-up taste, but you can certainly use milk chocolate if you’d prefer.
For the cookie part, I took a shortcut and bought the Walkers Shortbread cookies, available at your local supermarket. They are very delicious and made just the perfect size of a candy bar.
To start, place your cookies on a rack on top of a cookie sheet, lined with parchment paper (for easy clean up). You can also use an 8×8 square pan as well. Pour the melted caramel (recipe below) all over your cookies and let it set.
Oh, brother. This picture is worth a thousand words. Just decadent and luscious. After you let it set for a few hours, remember the Mantra, your patience will be rewarded. Separate the pieces and dip them in the chocolate bath. This is the fun part! Get your kids to help you with this project.

You would think it’s a messy ordeal but I just dip them with a fork and tap the edge of the pan to shake off the excess chocolate. Like there could ever be an excess of chocolate, who are we kidding here?
Then let them set again and munch away!!! Hope you can make these Homemade Twix Bars at home
