Get ready for tomorrow’s premiere of Hotel Transylvania 2. It promises a lot of laughs composed by the same cast from the first movie.

Last week I had the wonderful opportunity to interview Selena Gomez, voice of Mavel in the movie. This young girl is sweet, talented and a huge inspiration. I was in awe of her presence and how nice she was to the kids who also got to interview their idol. If you follow me on Periscope, you probably saw everything.

Here’s some of the questions we asked Selena:

When did you start acting?

At age 7. My mom did a lot of theater and I loved watching.

How long did it take to voice Mavis in Hotel Transylvania?

About 1 week in total.

Was it fun shooting the movie?

Yes it was! I was the only girl on the movie but Adam Sandler and Andy Sandberg crack me up

What quality in friends do you look for?

I like friends who are real

How much Mavis are you in real life?

Mavis is much cooler than me. She is really fun and loving and she took a chance from falling in love with Johnny.

Which Transylvania movie did you like better?

The 2nd one. It has a really family feel and I like that.

Were you afraid of Monsters? Who is your favorite Monster?

I am partial to Dracula but I really like The Mummy. I was more freaked out by dolls.

So what is next for you?

My album Revival comes out October 10th which I am very excited about because it is an extremely personal record.

What has been your favorite Halloween Costume?

My mom used to be a makeup artist and I’d dressed up like a Wicked Witch. It was very fun for me! I love Halloween and still love going to haunted houses

What draws you to a project?

Well I realized in over the years that I really love working with people who bring out the best in me. Projects must have some substance because I like to be challenged.

Did you like seeing Dennis act?

I did. He was a sweetheart. I wanted to hug him. But I haven’t actually seen him in person yet.

What are you scared of?

Losing my family. I mean that’s a really deep question. If we’re going materialistic I would say Spiders.

What is your favorite song?

I love somewhere over the rainbow by Judy Garland.

Being latina, how has your culture influenced your career choices?

I never saw myself facing any challenges because of my background. Half of a family is latin and I the fact that I get to be the voice for them is really a wonderful feeling. I try to work on my Spanish

What do you want girls to take away from your role?

The character I played in Disney for years was really spunky and wouldn’t take no for a answer. I feel Mavis is the same and I like that, she’s fearless. I think it’s really important to have confidence in yourself.

Do you daydream?

Constantly! That how I come up with my songs and my music and I want to never lose that.

Here’s the official trailer for the movie:
