On December I made a Chestnut Meringue cake using a few can of pureed chestnuts my friend Adriana has given to me. I loved the flavor so much that I wanted to make something different and exotic for the summer. This ice cream hit it out of the park in terms of flavors and texture.
You can purchase chestnut puree online or a specialty gourmet store. I found mine in a Russian store here in Miami. Marron glace is easy to make at home or you can also purchase it on Amazon if you can’t find fresh chestnuts or you’re strapped for time.
Ever since summer has arrived I am so excited to make ice cream at home. Since I don’t need a special ice cream machine to churn a delicious and creamy concoction, it leaves me with so many choices and ideas of different flavors.
