Mango Strawberry Smoothie

As summer is dwindling down my recipes keep on evolving to go with the current season. Right now I am focusing on back-to-school lunches and easy weeknight dinners. This Mango Strawberry Smoothie is delicious, ready in seconds and almost ready in 5 minutes or less.

This summer, my daughters enjoyed the warm weather eating plenty of Fruttare Frozen Fruit Bars. Now that classes have started, my youngest one requested to have some Fruttares in her lunchbox. I explained that is not practical to take frozen items to school since they will melt. She was a bit sad so I did some thinking and came out with this yummy Mango Strawberry Smoothie.

Believe it or not, this smoothie is made by blending 2 different flavors of Fruttare Frozen Fruit Bars with a bit of milk. You can also add fresh fruit and some ice if you’d like. That way you can enjoy the taste of summer all year. I like the fact that it’s low in calories and made with real fruit. It’s a mom and kid-approved snack.

And now it’s the perfect smoothie base! Perfect for a quick snack and also convenient when you want a smoothie and you don’t have fresh fruit at home. Clever huh? I bet you never thought about using fruit bars as the base for smoothies.

I think they are perfect! First of all, they are frozen, they have real fruit and Fruttare even offers some flavors with milk already included.
