Brown Butter Blondies with Dulce de Leche
If you are looking for a dessert that tastes like brown butter, caramel, and pure happiness had a baby, these brown butter blondies are it.
They are chewy, buttery, and packed with deep butterscotch flavor thanks to the browned butter. Then comes the creamy dulce de leche center, which makes every bite completely irresistible.
This is not a “just one small piece” kind of dessert. This is a hide-the-pan-from-yourself situation.

Why You’ll Love These Blondies
- Chewy, buttery blondie texture
- Deep nutty flavor from brown butter
- Creamy dulce de leche center
- Easy to make in one pan
- Perfect for parties, bake sales, or dessert tables
What Does Brown Butter Do in Blondies?
Brown butter adds a rich, nutty, almost toffee-like flavor that makes these blondies taste extra special. It gives the batter more depth and makes the dulce de leche filling taste even more caramel-like.
Combined, brown butter and dulce de leche are basically dessert soulmates.

Easy Dessert Bars for Parties
These blondies are easy enough for a weeknight bake, but special enough for entertaining. They bake in about 30 minutes and slice beautifully once cooled.
If you’re hosting a party, making treats for school, or bringing dessert to a bake sale, this is the kind of recipe people will ask about.

Tips for the Best Brown Butter Blondies
- Brown the butter until it smells nutty and turns golden, not burned
- Let the butter cool slightly before mixing with the eggs
- Do not overbake; the center should stay chewy
- Cool completely before slicing for clean squares
- Add extra dulce de leche on top if you want them extra decadent
Dulce de Leche Center
The dulce de leche melts into the blondies and creates a creamy caramel-like layer in the middle. You can add a little more on top if you like, but I personally love keeping it inside so the bars are less messy.

Storage Tips
Store the blondies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate them if your kitchen is warm.
You can also freeze them in a sealed container for longer storage. Just thaw before serving.
