Skinny Mug Brownies ( Under 100 Calories )

Are any chocoholics reading this? I have some excellent news for you: Not only are these Skinny Mug Brownies under 100 calories, but they cook in just 60 seconds in the microwave.

How cool is that? 4 ingredients are poured inside a mug, mixed, and then microwaved. Easy peasy lemon squeezy (As my daughter would say). I sweetened them with Truvia.

You can have these for dessert or as a midnight snack when the mood strikes. I make a few mugs, leave them in the fridge and just microwave them when I am hungry. If you follow a Gluten Free diet use almond flour.

I like to top mine with fat-free whipped topping but you can certainly eat them by themselves. It has a nice flavor and a chewy texture that I enjoy.

My husband suggested that next time we try to bake just to compare the textural difference. I’ll try it next week and let you know how it goes.

You know those days when everything goes wrong? Unexpected traffic, the kids are having tantrums and you come home with a huge headache – Reward yourself with some Skinny Mug Brownies. All the flavor and none of the guilt. Yum!

These bad boys prep in 2 minutes or less so in no time, you’ll be in chocolate heaven. Lately, I’ve been on this cake-in-a-mug craze. I LOVE IT! Instead of making a whole cake that later I know I’ll eat, I make an individual portion for myself and don’t have to share with the rest of the household, plus I get to eat a freshly baked cake in minutes.

Here are the nutrition facts for this Skinny Mug Brownies so you can see exactly what you’re eating:

K – I find that if you make sure the tablespoons of flour aren’t heaped and add 1 extra tablespoon almond milk, or simply cook above recipe for 50 seconds instead of 60, it’s more brownie like.

Another thing is if you’re not too worried about a few extra calories the above recipe with 1 level tablespoon of Nutella mixed in too results in a lovely gooey texture.!

Thanks for sharing this Tiffany – love this recipe, and it comes without the guilt!

Just made these tonight! Turns out great! Very yummy!

We added one more packet of Truvia, were skimpy on the tablespoons of flour, and replaced the almond milk with Califia Farms Almond Milk Creamer (Dairy Free) Vanilla flavor (30 cal per oz), we then added a half a tablespoon of chocolate chips and a half a tablespoon of white chocolate chips, topped with whipped cream! Also microwaved for 50 seconds rather than 60 seconds. Delicious!

    made this tonight. Yum!

I added a tbsp of Nutella and an extra tbsp of milk and it came out perfect. I “cooked” it for 1 minute and it was doughy but since there’s nothing raw in it, doughy is fine by me.
    Thank you! 🙂

Mmmmm… thank you! I LOVED it. I made it yesterday and thought it was pretty good so today, I tried out some additions to enhance it further:
    – 1 extra teaspoon milk (I used unsweetened vanilla almond)
    – a few milk chocolate chips (about half a tbsp)
    – 1 extra sweetener packet (splenda is what I have on hand)
    – a dash of peppermint extract (less than 1/4 tsp)

Came out quite flavorful, and with my calculations, still only 130 calories!

This is the easiest recipe I’ve seen so far! Most recipes need vanilla extract and brown sugar, which are hard to find where I live, but this recipe uses the most common things to make the best brownies! Its also low on calories, making it perfect as a snack that won’t impact my weight. Thanks for sharing this recipe.

It tasted awful and it was rubbery. I used Estevia for my sweetener. I wonder if that’s where I went wrong. I guess the rubber texture could have been from cooking it for the entire minute. I will try it again using a different sweetener.

Substituted regular flour for coconut flour and it was amazing. It really gave it some texture. However, when I made it with regular flour, it turned out bland and dry. The texture was unappetizing. The original recipe gave me something to work with and I was able to tweak it a little bit to suit my personal tastes 🙂

Love this!! Thank you so much! I top it with some Halo ice cream and its delicious! Filled my chocolate craving!! Also I make the recipe 1 1/2 times so all the ingredients times 1 1/2, which is under 150 calories! Then I microwaved for 60 seconds and the consistency was PERFECT! Put like 3 tablespoons of halo s’mores ice cream and you’ve got an under 200 calorie snack that actually is extremely filling! Thanks again! Hi again I saw a comment where they said it was more calories so I thought I add it up just to see and when I added them all up, its actually less!!! (At least on my end lol)

    Here’s my break down:

1 tbsp of Unsweetened cocoa stop and shop brand) = 20 calories
2 packets Truvia or Splenda (I used Splenda)= 0 calories
    2 Tbsp of flour=55 calories
3 tbsp of unsweetened vanilla almond milk=6 calories
30 calories per cup, 16 tablespoon in a cup so less than 2 calories per tablespoon)

    20+55+6= 81 calories!!!!

Used the Almond flour and Almond milk, 1 minute, nothing. Another 30 seconds, nothing, just a soupy mess! Wish o had read the comments first because I was ambitious and mixed up enough of the dry ingredients to make 4 so I’d have it on hand! Will try tomorrow again, maybe add some regular flour? Use 2% cow’s milk? We’ll see.

made the skinny mug chocolate brownie today, mixed all the ingredients and cooked for 1 minute in my 800 watt microwave , the results were disappointing.
    1. didn’t rise, so was just looked like a brown sponge in the bottom of the mug.
    2. was just like chewing a rubber sponge, not a nice consistency.

    not worth doing again

I found these to lack chocolate flavor. I used stevia as the sweetener and my brownie was very bitter. Not sure how to get a chocolate flavor and remove the bitter taste. The consistency was great. Just don’t know how to fix what it lacks.

Hi Lisa, I’m sorry this happened. You can add some chocolate chips for more sweeter flavor or add more stevia
