S’mores shakes
Can you believe it’s summer already? We are feeling the heat in Miami and what better thirst quencher than these delicious S’mores shakes?
These shakes are not like any other you have ever tried, they are made with actual S’mores ingredients: chocolates, marshmallows, and graham crackers. This goes to show that you don’t always need a campfire to make S’mores.
I was introduced to S’mores when I was 9. My parents used to send me to a summer camp in Maine so I could learn English. In the camp, there was a huge lake with a little island in the middle.
The counselors took us to “camp” inside the little island. They made a campfire and would teach us how to make s’mores. Oh Boy! I was hooked! When I returned home to Venezuela I was sad because there weren’t any marshmallows over there.
As the years progressed I tried tons of S’mores recipes: cupcakes, pudding, ice creams, etc. but in all honesty, there’s nothing like the classic Hershey’s chocolate, Honey Maid Graham Crackers, and Kraft Jet-Puffed Marshmallows. Those exact flavors still linger in my palate after all these years.
As I mentioned before, it’s very hot in Miami so I decided to make something that will remind me of my childhood, be refreshing, and also perfect for serving on an outdoor setting. Since we live very close to the water, we get a nice sea breeze all day long that allows us to stay outside comfortably.
These S’Mores Shakes are super delicious! One sip and you’ll be hooked, it has a very nice chocolate flavor with a subtle hint of graham cracker combined with the creaminess of the marshmallow.
If you have a grill or a small fire pit you can roast those marshmallows and stick them between the Graham Crackers, or you can do it the Miami way: leave the chocolate outside for 2 minutes… and you’ll get the following results:
See? No cooking is involved at all! The sun does all the work for me. My friends and family enjoyed dipping their marshmallows in the melted chocolate.
All the items needed to make the best S’mores ever can be found at Walmart, and better yet, there’s a huge display right in the food area with all 3 ingredients together, so no need to run all over the store.
I hope you can try these S’Mores Shakes at home. If you do, please upload a pic on Instagram and tag me @Livingsweetmoments or use the hashtag #LivingSweet. I promise to repost it. Now that I shared my take on this popular dessert, it’s your turn! What’s your favorite way S’Mores Recipe?
