Hosting a Halloween Party soon? You have to make these super easy and delicious Spider Deviled Egg Recipe. I promise they won’t bite 😉 And for sure they will be a hit with kids and adults alike. I love how simple ingredients can turn an egg into a conversation starter.

The idea is not only to make the Spider Deviled Egg but also present them in a way that looks cool. Do not just plop them on a tray. I used simple fabric to mimic the spider web and made them pop with the Halloween colors underneath. I also arranged them like they were marching somewhere (or escaping). These will definitely be the highlight of your party.

To make your scary Spider Deviled Egg Recipe you need the following ingredients:

If you cook a lot at home, you probably have the majority of these items already in your pantry. The only thing I didn’t have before I made the eggs was the Black olives, but they are found in every store – even pharmacies!

Ingredient list

  • 6 Hard Boiled Eggs
  • 3 Tbsp. Mayonnaise
  • 1 ½ teas. Spicy Brown Mustard
  • 1 teas. Rice Vinegar, or whatever you have on hand
  • ¼ teas. Salt
  • ¼ teas. Pepper (optional)
  • 1/8 teas. Garlic Powder
  • 1 can Medium Black Olives

The first thing you need to do is cook your eggs in boiling water. Peel them and scrape all of the yolks into a bowl. Add the Mayonnaise, Mustard, Vinegar, Salt, Pepper and Garlic Powder to the yolks and mix well.  Mash the yolks so they are smooth.

spider-deviled-egg-recipe-process-2 I can just eat this mixture and spread on toast. Yum!! Spoon the filling back into the crevices of the egg whites using a spoon or a baggie. They will look like this:

See easy? Then cut the olives into halves and arrange the pieces on top of the egg mixture. Cut little legs and leave the smaller half to represent the head. Have fun with them! Ask the kids to help shaping the olives into cute little spiders. I will explain the last process in more detail below

Hope you try my Spider Deviled Egg at home and let me know how they came out! Email me some pics and I will post them below.

Spider Deviled Egg Recipe
Recipe Type: snack
Author: Tiffany Bendayan
Prep time: 10 mins
Cook time: 10 mins
Total time: 20 mins
Serves: 6
Ingredients
  • 6 Hard Boiled Eggs
  • 3 Tbsp. Mayonnaise
  • 1 ½ teas. Spicy Brown Mustard
  • 1 teas. Rice Vinegar, or whatever you have on hand
  • ¼ teas. Salt
  • ¼ teas. Pepper
  • 1/8 teas. Garlic Powder
  • 1 can Medium Black Olives
Instructions
  1. Peel eggs and cut in half length wise. Using a teaspoon scrape out the yolks into a small bowl.
  2. Add the Mayonnaise, Mustard, Vinegar, Salt, Pepper and Garlic Powder to the yolks and mix well. Mash the yolks so they are smooth.
  3. Spoon the yolk mixture back into the whites.
  4. Each half egg will use 2 olives.
  5. Cut the first Olive in half lengthwise. Place the two halves end to end on top of the yolk mixture right in the middle, leaving room for the legs.
  6. Cut the second Olive in lengthwise in half. Cut each half lengthwise to make four legs each. Put four legs on each side of the half olive closest to the pointy end of the egg, angling them so they fan out a little.
