Cream Cheese with Hot Red Pepper Jelly
My husband turned 34 this week and to celebrate the special occasion I decided to throw him a bright and elegant Mexican Fiesta party. It turned out to be a hit! Guests were impressed with the colors, decoration, food, and drinks.
This delicious Cream Cheese with Hot Red Pepper Jelly is perfect to serve at the party. It has excellent flavor and is a hit with the guests. Serve with chips, crackers, or bread.
One of his favorite foods is Mexican, but instead of going cliché with the same ol’ piñatas, sombreros, and usual decoration, I chose to emphasize my table decoration on the chilis.
It reflects a bit of my husband’s personality. The love of my life has tons of energy and is very bold. He brings brightness into our lives. That’s exactly the mood of this table: spicy food, spicy drinks, and vivid reds and hot pinks.
Since the weather in Miami is not too hot and not too cold, we hosted our elegant Mexican Fiesta Party in our backyard during the afternoon.
We relied on natural light and Candles that not only gave us beautiful lighting but also filled our table with a delightful and energizing aroma that complimented the other decorations perfectly.
I included my little golden bowls, usually used to place nuts inside and I decided to stick some red peppers upside down to give the impression of a blooming flower. Looks neat, doesn’t it?
Here’s an awesome tip, I placed my candles inside a pudding cup, and in between the glass of the candle and the cup, I placed hot red chilies.
I love combining natural elements with my decorations. It’s original and thoughtful, and it also gives my guests an idea of the menu offered.
For drinks, we served virgin Marys (Bloody Mary’s cousins) garnished with a pepper border, lemons, olives, and a celery stick; my husband’s favorite. The drink was spicy and super flavorful.
As far as food, we went with appetizers: Jalapeno Poppers with guacamole and cream cheese with a sweet and spicy Jalapeno jelly (recipe below).
I served the cream cheese with bagel crisps but you can certainly serve them with tortilla chips or just toasted baguette slices.
On the tree behind us, we hung some cute paper lanterns that gave our table some height and also helped with the festive look.
All we need for our elegant Mexican fiesta party are the Mariachis and we are all set!
Now let me tell you about this delicious pepper cream cheese spread. It tasted amazing. It was sweet, spicy, creamy, and addicting. I think I spent more time in that corner of the table than in any other area of the party.
The top is garnished with Jalapeno slices that give off some great flavor, aroma, heat, and color. It also represents the flag of Mexico: green, red, and white.
I am really glad my husband had a great Birthday and that my table looked gorgeous. The golden elements added a touch of elegance and also elevated and accentuated my fiery red colors along with the peppers, and candles.
