Brigadeiros – Brazilian Chocolate Fudge Balls (AKA Brazilian Truffles)

After trying these Brigadeiros you’ll think you died and went to heaven. Yes, they are that good. Imagine soft chocolate fudge balls made with dulce de leche that just melt in your mouth when you take a bite. These brigadeiros hits all the marks in terms of flavor and texture.

I dressed my no-bake chocolate fudge balls in different colors because wanted to show you how you can dress them up for different occasions.

They can be served for elegant parties, get-togethers, or even colorful for children’s parties. Add some cupcake liners on the bottom so people can grab them easily. You’ll be hooked with these chocolate ball recipes.

Honestly, I’ve never been to Brazil, but I do love their cuisine. They have one of the best beef dishes on the planet (picanha) and now that I tried their desserts I am in Samba heaven.

Normally Brigadeiros aka fudge balls are made with condensed milk, which you can use for this recipe. But I decided to make the flavor a little deeper by substituting that ingredient with DULCE DE LECHE.

If you’ve been following my blog for a long time, you’ve noticed that I have a weakness for it. It’s one of my favorite products to bake with and when you make them you’ll see how incredible the flavor is.

So without further ado, I am going to show you how EASY these Brigadeiros = Brazilian Chocolate Fudge Balls are to make.

First, we start by grabbing a pot and adding in the dulce de leche, cocoa powder, and butter. Let the mixture melt and stir for a few minutes until it becomes thick and luscious.

Resist your temptation to dip your finger inside. Your willpower will pay off in the end… Now let’s continue. Place the mixture in a greased bowl and let it cool.

When they are cool enough to handle, roll them into balls using your hands. Then, dip each one in the sprinkle of your choice. You can even use cocoa powder, coconut flakes, or chopped nuts if you’d prefer.

And that’s it! SEE? it’s that easy! People will taste them and go crazy so make a few extra batches and freeze them.

I hope you can try these delicious Brigadeiros AKA Brazilian Truffles at home. If you do, please upload a pic on Instagram and tag me @Livingsweetmoments or use the hashtag #LivingSweet. I promise to repost it.

Do you have to refrigerate these after you make them or would they be ok if you didn’t? I want to make them for my class, but I don’t have a way to keep them cool until lunch time! Thanks! I love your page!

Hi Jen! Brigadeiros are just like fudge. They don’t need refrigeration.
I personally like to refrigerate them as soon as I make them but then I leave them out.

I can’t even make brownies… not sure what I’m doing here. Anyway, during this bold attempt The consistency wasn’t creamy ; it was more lumpy. Where did I go wrong? Is there anyway to fix this?

haha Amy! Don’t worry! just cook it a little longer and refrigerate until a bit firm. As long as you can roll them into balls you have no problem!

If I freeze these do I roll them in the sprinkles first and freeze them?
        Thank you.
