Delicious Chocolate Lasagna Recipe
First of all, get ready to taste paradise. This amazing Chocolate Lasagna Recipe is SO EASY to make and the perfect balance between sweetness and flavor. Layers of chocolate cookies, chocolate mascarpone cream, and whipping cream all topped with shaved chocolate curls.
While I was researching for chocolate lasagna recipes, I found out that most of them use chocolate pudding mix and whipped topping. Personally, not a fan of creating a dessert where everything is artificial.
So I went into the kitchen and created this Chocolate Lasagna Recipe as I went. Honestly, in the beginning, I had no idea what I was making until I keep mixing and layering. Thankfully I had a notepad beside me so I could write everything down.
In the end, this from scratch Chocolate Lasagna Recipe turned out delicious using less ingredients than the artificial one and the flavor is out of this world.
I love the fact that is so creamy, with deep chocolate flavor. The mascarpone cheese has so much delicate flavor that it compliments the chocolate perfectly. I decided not to add sugar to the whipping cream to avoid the grainy texture.
In addition, I chose to use chocolate graham crackers because I like the taste and also they come in a rectangular shape that is perfect for layering. If you’re not a big fan of them, you can use whatever chocolate cookie you may like.
The only recommendation I can make is that you use a good quality chocolate in your recipe. It’ll make a huge difference in flavor and in texture.

- 1 Box of Chocolate Graham Crackers
- 1 cup of semi-sweet good quality chocolate chopped
- 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
- 2 - 8 oz tubs of mascarpone cheese at room temperature
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
- 2 cups of heavy cream chilled
- Shaved chocolate for garnish optional
Melt chocolate in a double boiler, let it cool for 2-3 minutes
Place mascarpone cream in a bowl, mix with sugar, vanilla, and melted chocolate using a spatula or whisk
In another bowl, whip the whipping cream until stiff peaks form
Fold in HALF of the whipped cream into the mascarpone cream mixture. Fold it in 2-3 batches gently so the whipped cream does not deflate
The other half the whipped cream will be used for layering
Place chocolate graham crackers in the bottom of an 8x8 square glass dish. If pieces don't fit, break them up so they form a single layer and cover the whole bottom surface
Spread half the chocolate mascarpone cream over the cookies
Spread half of the whipped cream over the mascarpone cream
Place another layer of chocolate graham crackers on top of the whipped cream. If pieces don't fit, break them up so they form a single layer and cover the whole surface
Spread the remaining chocolate mascarpone over the cookies
Spread the remaining whipping cream over the mascarpone cream
Top with shaved chocolate
Refrigerate for 6-8 hours or overnight
