Instant Pot Dulce de Leche Lava Cake
If you’re a novice baker, then this recipe is perfect for you since you only need 3 easy ingredients and a pressure cooker that does all the work for you. The result is an amazing oozing dulce de leche lava cake that will even wow your mother in law.
I’ve had a thing for Dulce de leche all my life. I’d spread it on toast in the morning, serve it with ice cream, and use it as a filling for cakes.
As I got older and discovered that it could be used as a baking ingredient. That’s when my imagination started going wild with ideas. You can check out some of my favorite dulce de leche recipes HERE.
You can even make the batter in advance, simply refrigerate it and cook it when company arrives. If you’re not a fan of the Instant Pot, you can bake these in the oven at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for about 13 to 14 minutes.
Lava cakes fascinate me because it’s one of those interactive desserts where every guest gives their cake a nice tap and watches how the middle oozes out like lava on a volcano. It’s not only delicious and creamy, but it’s fun too.
I used store-bought dulce de leche, but you can certainly make yours in the pressure cooker. My friend Ana from Cleverly Me has a great homemade recipe HERE.
For these lava cakes, you will need 10 oz ramekins or custard cups. They’re sold at Amazon or your local kitchen store. Porcelain, metal or glass is fine as long as they’re oven safe.

This was so sweet and the sweetness took away any delight in eating it. For me, I will not make it again and each cake had more than 400 calories. I did not care for it . . . . .
