Vegan Hearts Of Palm Ceviche Recipe
Whenever you’re hosting a party or simply just want a quick dinner idea, this delicious hearts of palm ceviche is the answer.
Since there’s not actual cooking involved, it’s ready in a jiffy. Present them in martini glasses for an elegant affair or family-style in a big bowl. No matter what you choose, the reaction from others is always going to be the same: Yum!
I love this recipe because it’s so easy to make. I usually have a bowl in the fridge and when my husband comes home from work, he serves himself while dinner is getting prepared.
Last week I hosted a taco dinner party and made this Hearts Of Palm Ceviche as a side dish, it was a hit. My friends also used it to top their fish taco.
In Venezuela, hearts of palm are very common to serve as a salad or appetizer. Here in the states, it is easily found in the vegetable can section of your supermarket. They’re ready to eat as soon as you open the can so all you need to do is slice and serve.
This recipe is customizable as well, for some sweetness add diced mango or pineapple chunks. If you’d like more heat, increase the amount of diced jalapeno peppers or add a few dashes of hot sauce.
If you’re serving this for a dinner party, the ceviche can be made in advance. The avocado will stay nice and green due to the presence of lime and orange in the dressing.

Vegan Hearts Of Palm Ceviche Recipe
Ingredients
For Ceviche
- 2 cans hearts of palm diced
- 1 ripe avocado diced
- 1/2 red onion diced
- 1 jalapeno seeded, deveined and chopped
- 1/2 cup red pepper
- Cilantro chopped
- Salt + Pepper to taste
Vinaigrette
- 2 tablespoons soybean oil vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons lime juice 3 limes
- 2 tablespoons orange juice
Instructions
- Place all ceviche ingredients in a bowl
- In a smaller bowl, whisk the vinaigrette ingredients
- Slowly add the vinaigrette into the ceviche until the desired flavor is achieved
- Note: you may not need all the vinaigrette
- Check for seasoning and serve
- Enjoy!
