Beer Battered French Fries Recipe
Are you ready for this Sunday’s big game? I am now with this melt in your mouth, super savory Beer Battered French Fries Recipe..That’s right, potatoes tossed in a seasoned beer batter and then fried to perfection. In case you’re thinking that this recipe requires peeling a potato, cutting it into fries and soaking them. You’re wrong.. I use a little secret weapon called: Alexia Frozen Fries.
Since Alexia offers such great quality fries I decided to use them instead of going through all that trouble of peeling and cutting potatoes. I couldn’t decided between the crinkle cut fries or the sweet potato kind so I chose both. I was inspired to create this recipe from a fish and chips dish I tried at Lincoln Rd. the other day. The fish was fried in a beer batter and I wanted to impart the same flavor and texture to the fries. It’s perfect for game day. I serve it with tartar sauce and a giant pickle because the balance of brininess and creaminess are the perfect combination with the crunchy fries.
If you’re inviting people over to watch the game, serve it with a few beers and your guests will be very happy. Make an extra batch in case they ask for more. I would also serve some hot sauce on the side for a spicier kick.
Seriously, is there something better than a beer battered fry? You can’t have just one.. They are seasoned to perfection with a nice crunch. The sweet potato and crinkle fries give a different flavor and texture dimension. The sweet potato has a deep sweet taste that can withstand the creamy sauce. The Crinkle fries on the other hand, are wider and meatier, making them perfect for battering and dipping.
The process of making them is very simple. 4 easy steps and you’re done. I suggest keeping them in the oven before guests arrive and frying them in batches so the temperature of the oil doesn’t drop rapidly. You want your potatoes to fry up evenly and crispy.
For this Beer Battered French Fries Recipe I start out with frozen potatoes and just coat them with flour. Then dip them in the batter and fry. When they come out of the batter I simply add some salt, pepper and chopped parsley. That’s it! Serve it alongside with your favorite tartar sauce and you’re ready to watch your favorite team win.
If your friends are on opposed teams you can divide them into crinkle and sweet potato teams or you can add some toothpicks in your favorite teams colors. I honestly don’t even know who is playing so I chose a multicolored pattern.
I really hope you can give this Beer Battered French Fries Recipe a try and if you do, let me know how they come out.

We love Alexia fries of all kind but I never thought about deep frying them. I know…. how have I not done that, right? Bet they are even tastier dipped in that sauce! #client

You’re welcome!
I know I will get a few boo’s for asking this question: what can I replace the beer with as my husband is an alcoholic?
Hi Judith! great question. There are a few brands of good non-alcoholic beers out there, like the Heineken 0.0
If anyone were to judge you for your question, they have serious issues.
I have 2 alcoholics in my family and also non alcohol drinkers. it’s no problem
to make adjustments for beer or wine. Good luck to you.
Just use either root beer or seltzer
Flour is also an ingredient 😉
