Chocolate Avocado Tart, no bake vegan gluten free dessert

Chocolate Avocado Tart

If you hear “avocado” and immediately think guacamole, I get it. But trust me, this Chocolate Avocado Tart is about to change your mind.

This no-bake dessert is rich, creamy, chocolatey, and completely decadent, without butter, eggs, cream, or baking. The avocado gives the filling that silky texture we all love in chocolate desserts, but you honestly would never guess it is there.

It is vegan, gluten-free, and perfect when you want something that feels indulgent but is made with better-for-you ingredients.

Why You’ll Love This Chocolate Avocado Tart

  • No baking required
  • Rich, creamy chocolate filling
  • Vegan and gluten-free
  • Made with simple ingredients
  • Perfect for parties, holidays, or healthy-ish dessert cravings
  • Tastes decadent without feeling heavy

Does Avocado Taste Good in Chocolate Desserts?

Yes! Avocado works beautifully in chocolate desserts because it has a mild flavor and naturally creamy texture. Once blended with cocoa and a sweetener, it creates a smooth chocolate filling that tastes rich and velvety.

The chocolate flavor is the star here. The avocado simply gives the tart its creamy, luscious texture.

A No-Bake Dessert That Actually Feels Fancy

This tart is perfect when you want dessert without turning on the oven. The crust comes together quickly, the filling blends until smooth, and the whole thing chills until set.

It looks elegant enough for guests, but it is easy enough to make on a random Tuesday when chocolate cravings strike.

How I Fell in Love With Chocolate Avocado Tart

A few weeks ago, I went to a natural food restaurant with my cousin Taly, who is a yoga instructor. For dessert, she ordered the “special raw chocolate tart.”

I’ll be honest, I cringed a little. Butter, eggs, and cream are usually my comfort zone for cakes and pastries, so the word “raw” made me suspicious.

Then I tasted it. Instantly hooked. My yogini cousin gave me the “I told you so” look and proudly announced that the secret ingredient was avocado.

Avocado? In dessert? Apparently, yes. And it is amazing.

Tips for the Best Chocolate Avocado Tart

  • Use ripe avocados for the smoothest filling
  • Blend until completely creamy, so there are no avocado pieces
  • Taste the filling before chilling and adjust the sweetness if needed
  • Chill long enough so the tart slices cleanly
  • Top with berries, coconut flakes, or shaved chocolate for serving

Can You Make This Tart Ahead?

Yes! This tart is a great make-ahead dessert. Prepare it the day before, refrigerate overnight, and slice when ready to serve.

Because it is served chilled, it is especially nice for warm weather, parties, and holidays when you want dessert ready before guests arrive.

How to Store Chocolate Avocado Tart

Store the tart covered in the refrigerator until ready to serve. Leftovers can be kept chilled for 2 to 3 days.

For the best texture, serve cold straight from the fridge.

I love to make fresh guac, but my favorite thing to do with an ripe avocado is to slice it, and dip it in a light batter, fry until golden brown. Best thing ever, we had it at Taco Truck, it turns an avocado into even more of a desirable snack!
