This delicious walnut honey bread recipe is perfect for breakfast, brunch, or even as a snack! Perfect for any Jewish Holiday or celebration
Walnut Honey Bread Recipe
I look forward to Rosh Hashanah every year because I get to bake and eat this delicious Walnut Honey Bread. Jewish people worldwide celebrate this Holiday by eating food with honey so that the next year will be a sweet one.
So it doesn’t matter what religion you are, a little sweetness doesn’t hurt anyone ;).
My Grandma created this Walnut Honey Bread Recipe. She uses many flavorings to give life to the bread. Flavoring includes lemon zest, cloves, coffee, and chocolate.
PLUS the crunch of the walnuts and the sweetness of the honey make this the perfect dish to eat for breakfast. I usually make a few loaves in different sizes to give away as presents.
Have a slice every morning with your coffee and you’ll look forward every day to your mornings.
It’s just so delicious! I had to hide them last night because my husband wanted to eat them all. I pulled them out for the photo shoot and right back to hiding – Hope they last until tomorrow.
I pulled them out for the photo shoot and right back to hiding – Hope they last until tomorrow.
This Walnut Honey Bread Recipe is very easy to make, simply dump all ingredients into a mixer and blend. Add to a greased loaf pan and bake.
They rise a great deal because it has yeast and baking powder. Cut slices up with a bread knife and they will look beautiful on a plate.
One tip when making this bread: save the prettiest pieces of walnuts to garnish the top before they bake. Mix the walnuts up with a little flour so they don’t sink to the bottom.
This recipe makes one huge loaf or 2 medium ones. I usually do a double batch to make little loaves and medium ones. So if you plan on giving a few of them away to family and friends, just double or triple the batch
Remember, everything goes inside the mixer so it makes no difference.

‘Ts’ does this mean teaspoon or tablespoon please?
In the UK we use imperial measurements (grams, pounds & ounces, teaspoon is tsp., tablespoon is tbs., cups are of a different capacity also).
This recipe sounds delicious, I’m eager to try it asap, however require measurement clarification before I make a complete mess of your wonderful loaf.
I really love the idea of ‘Grandma’s Recipe’, they’re inspiring & are ‘The Best’……
Can’t wait to try this out, I’m sure that I’ll love it & will be sharing it with my family & friends for years to come…..
Many thanks for sharing this with us, regards, Odelle Smith x.

Hi Odelle thanks for stopping by! In Venezuela we used the same measurements as the UK I translated them 🙂
TS = teaspoon
TB = tablesppon
I hope you can try it out and come back and let me know how it came out!! Have a great week!

hi, going to make this for a friend. I’ve never heard of this and look forward to trying it. question though – can I make them into muffins instead? how long do you think they should bake? thanks,
Tiffany says
Of course you can… I’ve never done it in a muffin pan so I can only estimate. Maybe start checking them around 20 minutes. Good luck and let me know how they came out!
