Delicious Orange Bars Recipe

Move over Lemon! There’s a new sheriff in town and it’s in these Orange Bars Recipe. Forget those gummy lemon bars made with bottled lemon juice and food coloring.. Orange has a ton of flavor and these bars do not disappoint. They are creamy, delicious, citrusy and so easy to make.

The reason why these Orange Bars Recipe is so delicious it’s because I use a lot of orange zest in the filling. Makes all the difference.

Once you zest a citrus fruit, you are basically releasing their essential oils which just means REAL FLAVOR STATION. You will never go back to those Lemon Bars again! Don’t get me wrong, I like lemon bars but Mr. Orange just takes them to another level.

The crust is buttery and crunchy. I added a few drops of vanilla extract to give it a little warmth to the flavor. Sitting on top of that crunchy crust is a creamy and tangy center.

And just to add another level I dusted the tops with some powdered sugar. You can also make some delicious candied orange zest segments and serve them on top for and extra punch.

This Delicious Orange Bars Recipe is super easy to make and if you have kids like I do, they can help you with all the steps. Yesterday weirdly enough was a chilly morning here in Miami, my daughters refused to leave the house.

To entertain them, we baked these bars. They took turns measuring ingredients and breaking the eggs. So to me, it was a killing 3 birds with one stone: making a yummy dessert, entertain the girls and teach them math at the same time.

The process is easy: make the crust, bake. Then make the easy filling, pour onto the baked crust and bake! Easy! In the pic above you can really detail all the zest inside the filling.

I recently had good success with a lemon bar recipe. When I saw your review, I thought I would give this a try. However, I was disappointed. If you don’t like orange marmalade then you probably won’t like these. If you want the tart/sweet combination you get from lemon bars, you won’t find it here. You’ll find it here, but use fresh-squeezed lemon juice and add a little extra.

Ken, please read the recipes before trying it out. This one does not have orange marmalade in it. It has natural orange juice.
