This easy and delicious Penne Alla Vodka recipe is ready in 20 minutes or less and is the perfect quick weeknight dinner idea for the family. Vegetarian too
Easy And Delicious Penne Alla Vodka
When it comes to pasta, my favorites are spaghetti bolognese, penne alla vodka, and carbonara. The 3 of them are so different and delicious in their own right that is hard to choose a top winner.
This Easy And Delicious Penne Alla Vodka is creamy, rich, and full of flavor. Some people refer to it as “pink sauce” since tomato sauce is combined with cream creating a beautiful color. I added sundried tomatoes to give the dish body and a different texture with every bite.
If you’re afraid to serve this to children because of the alcohol content, don’t worry. When the vodka is added to the skillet, I allow the alcohol to evaporate leaving only the delicious flavor of the drink. It’s the same principle as cooking with wine.
This dish is for me a type of comfort food. It reminds me of home, dining with my family, our Sunday cookout tradition. With every forkful, you will feel the love of family and the feeling of togetherness.
I tried Penne Alla Vodka a few years ago in an Italian Restaurant and instantly got hooked. I tried guessing what ingredients it contained and after a couple of tries (ok maybe 3-4 times) I was able to recreate the dish at home, since then, it has been a hit with my husband and children as well.
You can make the vodka sauce in advance and just heat up at the last minute, this makes it perfect for entertaining without the mess and the fuss.
Finally, I hope you can try this delicious Bolognese Sauce Recipe at home. If you do, please upload a pic on Instagram and tag me @Livingsweetmoments or use the hashtag #LivingSweet. I promise to repost it.
