Would you believe me that all it takes to make it is just throwing  4 ingredients in a pot, closing the lid, pushing a button and walking away?

This super Easy Instant Pot Yogurt recipe requires only 1 step and 4 ingredients using the cold method

Because that’s exactly what I did… AND IT WORKED.. As you can see…

This Super Easy Instant Pot Yogurt will yield you a sweet, tangy, creamy, and thick concoction that is healthier, cheaper, and super customizable to your taste buds.

Easy Instant Pot Granola recipe made with fairlife milk and siggis yogurt

Got your attention now?

The secret to this recipe is not only the instant pot but also the ingredients I used.

This super Easy Instant Pot Yogurt recipe requires only 1 step and 4 ingredients. No boiling, straining or checking temperature required. Make the perfect thick and creamy yogurt for breakfast and top with honey, fruit, and granola

Tip #1

Purchase Fat-Free FAIRLIFE MILK or a brand of milk that is Ultra-Filtered (no straining or boiling required) and is HIGHER in protein and lower in carbs.

Tip #2

Use Ultra-Thick Yogurt such as Greek Style, Icelandic Style, or Australian. This is what they call “the starter” and gives you the whey needed for yogurt to form.

Tip #3 Use Vanilla BeanPaste (optional)

To get all those beautiful vanilla specks in every spoonful, you can use Pure Vanilla Bean paste to distribute the taste and aroma evenly. You can also use a real vanilla bean.

This super Easy Instant Pot Yogurt recipe a closeup of yogurt topped with trail mix and honey

This ingredient is of course optional and you can omit it.

Now comes the sweetening part:

This super Easy Instant Pot Yogurt recipe formula using the cold method and variations

What about fruit and other ingredients:

This super Easy Instant Pot Yogurt recipe requires only 1 step and 4 ingredients. No boiling, straining or checking temperature required. Cold method yogurt with honey dripping from the top

If you would like to add a fruit puree add it AFTER the yogurt is ready in the instant pot, mix, and refrigerate until chilled.

The beauty of this recipe is that you can use yogurt you just made as a STARTER for the next batch!!

You can also use this yogurt to make an amazing loaf of Instant Pot Sourdough Bread – YUM!

Have you tried this using a higher content filtered milk? Do you know if it would work using unfiltered milk?

Once your yogurt is completely chilled you can add your flavorings. Vanilla, Almond, or any other extracts will give it a lovely flavor.
You can also add some jelly or jam (melted previously), lemon, lime, or passion fruit curd, coffee syrups like Torani impart great flavor, Protein powder, pureed fruits, etc

Can you use other than fat -free milk?

      October 13, 2018 at 9:17 am

Hi Jane, Fairlife milk it’s a brand that’s ultrafiltered, and has more protein than other kinds of milk. That will result in you in a creamy product that does not need straining. You may use fat-free milk but it’ll be less creamy and thinner. Aim for 2% for a better result and when it cools down, strain it for 2 hours using a strainer lined with paper towels

Every yogurt recipe that I have seen that uses the instant pot has said to boil the milk before. This is the first time I see the recipe just press and let it do the job. I was skeptical, but it totally works. Excellent yogurt. I am up in Quebec and I don’t think we have ultrafiltered milk, so I just used regular 2% milk. Flavored with maple syrup, some vanilla and pomegranate seeds, Totally delicious!

I used 3.25% (whole) milk and my starter was Krema, 11% m.f. I want high fat content. I put in a can of sweetened condensed milk. It turned out wonderfully. I find it a little thinner than what I want. What is your suggestion for thickening it a little? Can I run it through another 8 hour cycle? By the way, I love the way it tastes and it was so simple. Next time I’ll put in vanilla.

Hi Rita! for thickening just place a paper towel lined strainer over a bowl and add the yogurt on the strainer. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for an 1 hour. You’ll see the big difference

I love this recipe….when it works. For the 2nd time, my yogurt has turned out very runny…. thickly runny. I use the right Fairlife milk, vanilla bean paste, condensed milk (but it’s always sweetened because that is all I can find in stores in my area) and Chobani plain Greek yogurt. The taste is fine but the consistency is awful! What could be wrong?

Try it without the condensed milk (maybe different brand, different consistency) – And just use the milk, yogurt, and vanilla

I was finally able to try the recipe again, yesterday, using a different brand of condensed milk. It is better, but still not at all the right consistency for yogurt. Just wondering if you think the vanilla bean paste I used could affect it.. it’s Madagascar Vanilla Bean Paste (Amazon)… also says “bourbon” on the label. Additionally, I’ve been using Chobani plain yogurt. I bought Oikos today to try next only because my market doesn’t carry the siggi’s. Could the yogurt be an issue? I have made the recipe 6 times now – 3 have been great. 2 had to be tossed and this last is “better” but not nearly right.

Yes Jan. You can. When the yogurt is ready, you can line a colander with cheesecloth or paper towels, place it on top of a bowl and pour your yogurt in the colander. Place it on the fridge for a couple of hours and you will get thicker greek yogurt
