I know what you’re thinking. Coca-Cola with rice, is this lady crazy? Trust me, this Coca-Cola Rice Recipe tastes amazing. The soda gives it a subtly sweet taste that works. You couldn’t even tell what the main ingredient is.
If you’re looking for a delicious side dish to compliment any dinner or meal, then this is it. There’s tons of flavor and texture with every bite. As you can see in the picture, I added some egg noodles to the mix. Once you take a spoonful of this one, you’ll be sorry you didn’t make an extra batch. IT’S THAT GOOD.
Latins and Asians have one big love in common: Rice. In South America, white rice is served every day with every meal. I grew up eating as a side dish.
As you can imagine, there are 10000 recipes for Latin rice, but this one is my favorite because of the different textures and the play on the sweet and salty on your palate.
This Coca-Cola Rice Recipe is super easy to make! I combined 2 of my favorite rice dishes into one: toasted rice with noodles and soda, rice, with raisins.
The green onions on top not only bring a freshness but also balance all the flavors out.
You can make this Coca-Cola Rice Recipe in advance and just heat it right before the party or get-together. Your family and friends will love it, and telling them that the rice has coke makes a great conversational piece.

Coca-Cola Rice
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Long Grain Rice
- 1/4 Cup Egg Noodles the ones used for soup
- 1/2 Cup Almonds toasted, sliced or slivered
- 1/2 Cup Raisins
- 1 Cup Coke 8 oz
- 1 1/4 Cups Water
- 1 Bouillon Cube
- 1 Teaspoon Vegetable Oil or more if needed
- Salt + Pepper to taste
- Green Onion sliced (to garnish)
Instructions
- In a heavy saucepan, add the oil to medium heat
- Add the noodles and cook until they soften and get toasted (don't let them burn). Stir often
- Add the rice and mix with the noodles
- Pour in the coke, water and bullion cube. Let the liquid come to a boil. Test the liquid for seasoning and make the necessary corrections.
- Place a lid on top and reduce the heat down to low. Cook for 10-15 minutes or until the liquid has evaporated
- Remove from heat, fluff with a fork
- Mix in the raisins and almonds
- Garnish with the green onion
- Enjoy!
